Why Sex Matters: A Darwinian Look at Human Behavior by Bobbi Low- book review
(1) Summarize the whole book. However, you don’t need to do it chapter by chapter. Also, you can spend more time on what you think is most interesting in the book.

(2) You may critique the book, but it should not be more than half of your review. You don’t have to critique it. (But see point three:)

(3) Try to make the book review interesting. A critique or your opinions may help make it more interesting.

(4) You don’t need to cite the book unless you make direct quotes (in quotation marks). Then you should give the page number, such as: (p. 35).

(5) You do need to cite any other books or articles you use. You can do it however you like, using footnotes or not. My preferred way is to have a list of references at the end, and in the review just put author and year in parentheses, like this: (Dickens 1851).

(6) The American Journal of Sociology, and Contemporary Sociology are two journals that have book review essays you can look at if you want.
