Paper instructions:
The purpose of this assignment is to examine the intimate workings of one of the major political institutions through the eyes of a participant that is also

happens to be a professional political scientist. Students will read the memoirs of Rep. David Price entitled, The Congressional Experience, and then write a thorough

review. In the review, students will want to address the following issues:
• Summarize the main themes of the book (about 60%).
• Examine the strong/weak points and carefully describe those qualities (about 20%).
• Explain whether the book is technically accurate and whether it goes into sufficient depth (about 10%).
Explain why or why not?
• Explain how dated the book is and/or whether the content should age gracefully (about 10%). Explain why or
why not?
• Explain what is missing from the book?
