Australian Newspapers? representation of the Department of Immigration and refugees

focus on the media’s representation of the Department of Immigration vis a vis Refugees, and explore the inherent relationship of power and domination at play. I will also explore the notion of conflict of power amongst the three key players; DIAC, Media and Refugees.
I have compiled many articles published by various Australian Newspapers from January to April 2013 mentioning both DIAC and Refugees and will use Critical Discourse Analysis framework to demonstrate how political ideologies are construed and how these resources are used to construct different ideological stances of opposition in regards to Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC)/Government and asylum seekers/refugees.
